Trauma Therapy

Survivors of trauma often find that no one understands them. It's common to be constantly reminded of the traumatic experience through intrusive thoughts and memories, or involuntary flashbacks. Some might feel afraid to leave the house, have flashes of extreme anger, or isolate themselves. They may wonder if they'll ever be the same again. These reactions are understandable and unfortunately, quite common, but the good news is that therapy can help you get back to living the life you want. I'm a certified clinical practitioner of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), an evidence-based practice proven to be effective in helping people recover from the symptoms of a traumatic experience. This technique combines coping skills such as mindfulness and body awareness techniques with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systematic Desensitization. To allow sufficient time for processing, trauma therapy sessions are 60 minutes long. TFCBT sessions are available to children age 8 or older, teens, and adults. Please schedule a free video consultation (opens in a new tab) to learn more about TFCBT, or contact me at (626) 263-0052 if you prefer a phone call.
